Vacation time!

On Mother's Day, Grandma Joni, the girls, and I flew down to Phoenix, AZ, for a week and a half of relaxation in the sun at Aunt Valeri's ("Wowee's") house. We finally got to meet cousin Gavin, my cousin Caulyne's adorable little boy. In these photos, he was 6 months old and Giselle was 11 months, but he already outweighed her by a few pounds...hence, her nickname, "shrimpy G."

More birthday photos (from Grandma Joni's camera)

Here are some more party pics, courtesy of mom/Grandma Joni. More photos to follow soon, including our trip to Phoenix. Note the blow torch lighting the birthday candles. Apparently we don't own matches?!

Welcome back!

Ok, so it's been about a year and a half since I last posted to our site, so we'll see how this goes! I haven't sent out photos for quite a while, and a lot has happened recently...so we're playing "catch-up" with this first post. The pics aren't really in any particular order, and I'll post photos of our trip to Phoenix soon when I get them from mom's camera. Enjoy! (Note: You can't click on these new photos to see them full-size in another window. I'm looking into this little issue.)

We're still in the midst of home improvement projects. Can you tell? Getting close, though. We hope to have everything wrapped up by the end of August/early September. Then it's vacation time...St. Kitts and Trinidad are topping the list right now, but I don't much care as long as it's warm, relaxing, and there's no work in sight! Keith left this morning for Ft. Knox, KY, where he'll be a drill sergeant at basic training for one month. We already miss him!

Mackenzie and Giselle LOVE to go to the park, and Kenzie--like her dad--is an extreme daredevil.

Giselle just celebrated her first birthday last week. She is a sweet, cuddly, beautiful, adventurous, "serious" little girl who absolutely adores her big sister, is in love with Elmo from Sesame Street, and thinks she is the coolest baby ever since getting her very own Disney Princess walker from grandma for her birthday.

And finally a few random shots. Whoever said girls aren't messy never had any of their own. Check out Kenzie's attempt at lipstick! In the last shot of Giselle, she had a fever and was trying to cool off. We thought she was teething but, when she broke out in spots a few days later, we found out she had roseola. It's been a tough month for illness in our house. Kenzie and I landed in the hospital two days after our trip to Arizona....she had rotavirus and C. diff., and I had norovirus. Ten days in the hospital between us, hanging out in the same room. NOT fun. But if you ever wind up there, try to stay in the Pediatrics unit. You get your own nurse, all the video games you could ever think of, and every Disney movie ever made. After Kenzie was discharged and I was left alone in Peds, Keith tried to get me to convince people I was 3 years old and had a growth disorder. :-)
