"Melmo" Mania

Today, the girls and I went to the Hult Center to see Sesame Street Live: Elmo Makes Music. Mackenzie and Giselle are both crazy about Sesame Street, and Giselle is in love with Elmo, or "Melmo." This is the second performance we've seen, the first one being "When Elmo Grows Up" last May in Portland. I tried to get a few more shots of the girls watching the show, but it was dark in the concert hall for the majority of the performance. The adults in the crowd burst into laughter when several familiar songs began, including "The Hustle" and "You Should Be Dancing." Think Sesame Street meets Saturday Night Fever mixed with a little Stomp. Kennie, wearing her "Elmo for President" t-shirt, was cheering for Elmo as if she were at a Beatles concert...."This is SO EXCITING!!!!!!"

Happy Thanksgiving

We just returned from celebrating Thanksgiving with family and friends at Grandma Linda's house, and we....are.....pooped. The girls had a blast because Linda's niece and nephew-in-law, Tracey and Corey, brought their two beautiful daughters, Lily and Aubrey. So, we had four little girls running amok, ages 11 months, 1 1/2 years, 2 1/2 years, and almost 3 1/2 years. We transformed the tv room into a "safe room" (i.e. all breakables removed), complete with forts and movies like "The Little Einsteins" and "Elmo's Christmas Countdown." We might just make it to the 5am Black Friday sales because the girls crashed shortly after we got home at 6pm.

Kennie's wish list

We have one of those Christmas wish list books (80-some-odd pages, I think) from ToysRus, and Mackenzie studies it every night and begs me to read the caption under each toy's photo. This is the list she has compiled so far...

There's the remote-controlled Wall-E robot:

And the Rose Petal Cottage (I assume this is where Kennie and Wall-E will live):

And then, of course, there's the Nerf N-Strike Vulcan, complete with ammo belt and tripod, for defending said cottage. Against Giselle, I assume.

Up and running again....almost

We've been experiencing some "technical difficulties" with our camera lately but it's now fixed (hooray!) and new photos will be appearing shortly! Hopefully later today?! Check back soon...
